I decided to challenge myself to use items from subscription boxes, because I’ve been amassing a ton of items that I’ve been hardly using. So! I did!

I recently bought the Sephora Favorites Summerstash (link to Sephora page here). It was kind of…disappointing? I expected one or two things to be full-sized, but they were all mini.

So Sephora describes it like so:

[Unboxing] Ipsy April 2014 – Beauty Rocks with a B&A and FOTD.

Hi everyone!

I decided to do a little something different this month with the unboxing. I wanted to challenge myself to use all of the Ipsy items to create a look. You’ll see below what I ended up creating!

This month’s theme for Ipsy was Music. As you can see from their spoilers (see my previous post about them). They definitely added in items that can help you create a kind of rockstar look, just kidding not really. The only thing rockstar-y is the black eyeliner.

Elizabeth Mott pop! Goes the shadow in Champagne – this isn’t pigmented really well. It’s very similar to galore in the Kat Von D Esperanza palette. I would call it a less-pigmented dupe.

dr. brandt microdermabrasion skin exfoliant – this is the second sample I received of this (first one I got in ipsy). The price of this is ridiculous!

Thoughts about each item:

Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette: I love this palette. All of the colors. I’ve been using a different one for eyeliner every day. Revolted is in the Anarchy face case, which I already have and this one is pigmented pretty meh. (Revolted is the silver on the bottom)

Lancôme Artliner in Noir: I’m obsessed with this. I specifically asked for this because it is my Holy Grail eyeliner. love love love.

Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Poppy: This goes on so smoothly. It’s a nice decent lipstick, goes on kind of waxy. If you eat anything it will guaranteed come off. Poppy is a nice red with some cool undertones.

Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner in Teal: I personally hate felt tips like this, but I loveeee the color of this. I’ll keep practicing. 🙂

Stila Smudge Stick in Canary: I love love love both the color and the smudge sticks. I already had this in Mint Julep, and it’s best layered above a winged black eyeliner.
