Ipsy March 2014: Destination Beauty Unboxing!

I came home to a pink envelope at my door!

Earlier this month I was kept refreshing my ipsy glam room. (Instructions on how to find this here.)

My glam room  said I had these items:

I was surprised because it is a little less than what we normally get in Ipsy bags. However the sizes of these items made up for it. As you can see below, the pacifica body butter is a nice deluxe size sample, and the OPI nail polish and eyeshadow quad are full size.

Love this! The bag is pretty plasticy, but it’s nice because it is most likely waterproof. The lipstick is actually pretty small. I compared it to a normal size lipstick below:

Preeeeetty small. But the lipstick goes on so nicely. I seriously love the color of this. You can see it below on my lips.

I also swatched all of the eyeshadows and the lipsticks on my skin.

The eyeshadows aren’t pigmented very well. I swiped Smashbox’s eyelid primer in the center, and it definitely helped with the color. You can’t wear this without a primer or base, the colors simply won’t show up. The quad has four colors:

1.  Risky Business – a  kind of goldish brown. Not bad.
2. Rock Bottom – a copper.
3. Starlet – a brown.
4. Bora Bora – an 80s blue.

The OPI nail polish is a rough nail polish. I got the robin egg blue (not the name, just the color I think it is). The texture when it’s on your fingernails is somewhat similar to caviar nail polish, but stays on better.

Overall this bag is pretty good. The items are bigger than normal, the lipstick is awesome, the eyeshadow is ok, the nail polish is cool, and the body butter smells really good without being overpowering. The bag could be waterproof which could be nice.

I’m really excited about the lipstick and OPI, ambivalent about the Be a Bombshell quad (I think I might have the full line of a Be a Bombshell now though), and meh about the pacifica body butter. Overall it’s a really good bag and I’m excited for it! It’s a smaller box, but definitely good items. 4.5/5! I’ll probably get it in a week or so following their trends.
