Pacifica is brand that Ipsy has collaborated with before, I loved the body butter they sent me. I will be so pissed if I get eyeliner. Every box and their mother is sending out Red Nail Polish for fall. Enough! What about the other nice fall colors? >:C The second part isn’t bad, Cailyn is an ipsy “favorite” (ugh), Maybelline Glaze is something you can pick up in the drug store but looks decent. What really interests me is the Hikari Lipstick. And finally for the last of these 3, the hello by Harvey Prince has made its rounds in boxes (first Birchbox, then petit vour, then bb5, then ipsy). No idea about the Precious Gold Lip Balm, but I’m really excited about both the Sally Hansen Gel Polish and the Nourish Organic Face Cleanser. I got a really small sample of the Nourish Organic moisturizer in Birchbox awhile back and loved it, so I’m glad this is full sized. Nyx eyeshadow is definitely a better quality than the other brands they give (looking at Be a Bombshell here). I’ve heard pretty meh reviews about Crown Brushes (they’re always on Hautelook).
I guess in the final sneak peek will be the bag, but you can see it in your glamrooms.

Boxycharm just posted their first spoiler for the September box!
The theme is going to be “Fashion Week Fabulous” and the first item is a tarte Lipsurgence lip gloss (yay tarte, ick lipgloss!) in “Blushing Bride”, “Exposed”, “Tipsy”, or “Park Ave Princess.” The lip gloss is listed as $19 on tartecosmetics.com (no affiliate) and you can browse through the colors to find the 4 possible shades you can get.
I’m not really sure how lip gloss = fashion week, but that’s just me.
Lip monthly looks like a “good” subscription for lip products, but they have been giving away old expired products (think 2009).

This is all part of her review, and these are the 4 items that she received:
The first product is the Lipology Anti-Feathering Stick. This is a clear balm that is designed to help prevent feathering of lipstick. This isn’t a twist up product, so it seems like the amount you get in the tip is all of it. I generally wear long wearing matte lip products so feathering isn’t really an issue for me, so I probably won’t use this product. I don’t understand what happens when you wear down the point… it will start applying like a chap stick. I can’t find much about this in online reviews, but you can only buy this from discount warehouse websites are selling them for around $4.
The next product is by Purple Lab and it is the Huge Lips Skinny Hips plumping lip gloss. I got the shade Red Sole, which is a sheer red gloss shade.
I decided to do a bit of research about this product and it seems the all of the reviews are from around 2010-2011, and in fact the Purple Lab website is no longer up, and they haven’t posted a tweet on their twitter since 2011. This concerns me. Some of the reviews were saying that the active ingredient “hoodia” can have some side effects, and even though I don’t necessarily worry about side effects of ingredients… I am concerned that we are being sent old stock from 2010, of a product that is no longer available, from a company that no longer exists.
The next lip product is by LOL (Lots Of Love) and it is a lipstick in the shade Dance With The Devil. This is a sheer but buildable lipstick, and it even though it applies quite well, it definitely has a cheap teenage makeup vibe to it. Looking these up, it seems like you can buy these lipsticks for around $2 each, but hey, at least they are still available to buy!
Lastly is the Mary Kate and Ashley Lip Foils. These are highly metallic lip sticks in small chap stick tubes. They are very pigmented and impressive to swatch, but on the lips they are far too frosty. Doing some research on these, I actually can’t find any Mary Kate and Ashley makeup site… and the only places you can buy these are makeup wholesale websites or ebay. Again, the only reviews of these are from 2009!
So 3 out of the 4 products are old or discontinued.

It promises a lot of bright colors for lips, eyes, and cheeks! I’m disappointed there aren’t any greens, blues, or purples really.
There are 5 types of items put out in this; Lipstick, Lipglass, Chromographic Pencils, Pigment, and Colour Creme. There are 6 shades of lipstick, 4 shades of the pencils, 4 shades of pigment, and 3 colour cremes.

6 shades of Playland LE lipstick! (source: corallista)
I didn’t have any trouble with Playland (the gold shimmery one), but evidently some people find it very sheer to go on. In this line up there is a gold, 3 pinks, and 2 reds. These can definitely emphasize the fun of dressing up and playing with makeup however I wish there was a purple, blue, or green. More fun colors please!

The pink is really neon for this. You can’t tell from the picture, but it’s Day-glo for sure! They’re pretty pigmented, and you won’t -need- a base for these.

My coworker Scott was recently in Japan. I asked him to pick me up some Canmake lipsticks.

Those proved really difficult to find though. And after quite a few texts being like “where do I find these?!?! What are these make-up things?!” he ended up picking awesome Shisheido (good choice Scott) lipstick and lip gloss (link to japanese website).

Here is a close up of the gloss:
The lip gloss applicator had an angled (~45 degree) tip. It’s really nice when you’re putting it on. The lip gloss is a shimmery opaque pink. I love it! Doesn’t feel sticky, and lasts all day. It will stain your lips as well. (I like this)
With 1 coat!
Next is the lipstick. The casing on this is beautiful. On the outside it says “Brilliant lips come happy.” Super cute.
It has glitter in it! It’s really faint, so when it’s on your lips it comes off as a shimmer rather than a glitter. This is actually a really nice sheer pink. I’m obsessed with colors like this and it’s a little lighter than my natural lips as you can see below.
